Welcome

Dear Families and Beloved Children,

First and foremost, I greet you and say welcome.

Although it may seem easy to access information today, due to the overwhelming amount of misinformation, what appears to be "information" can sometimes lead to worse outcomes than having no information at all. I have been performing surgeries in the pediatric age group for nearly 25 years, and throughout this time, I have tried to compile the information you need in a question-and-answer format on my personal website, based on the questions we frequently receive from you.

I must express with regret that medicine is, unfortunately, moving away from being an art and is turning into just another profession. Patients are often treated as material assets, and it is forgotten that they have emotional and spiritual needs — and this can be especially damaging when it comes to children. Added to this is the workload of physicians, which means that patients and their families are often not adequately informed.

Families and patients should always remember: doctors are neither creators nor magicians. Therefore, the treatment process — especially in the case of surgery — may take a long time and involve complications. These can be overcome together with a competent doctor, the patient, and the family working as a team. Mutual understanding, respect, compassion, and trust must form the foundation of this relationship. If these are not present, one should seek out a physician who fosters them.

To the doctors, healthcare workers, and families who read the information on my personal website — I would greatly appreciate your feedback, suggestions, or corrections via email. In doing so, I will be able to provide even more accurate information for everyone.

May God swiftly bring healing to those who suffer and comfort to the afflicted. Stay in God’s care.

                                       With Love and Respect…
